Kora
The Kora, often seen as a harp, is made of a gourd covered with a goatskin stretched, which is the soundboard. The strings of the kora is based on an easel, held on the goat skin of the single voltage cordes.Le number of strings is usually 21. However, it sometimes has kora equipped with 22, 23, 25 and even 28 strings, especially in Casamance in southern Senegal. In addition, the first description of the Kora (called "Konting in the description), by the explorers of centuries past, evoked a 18 string instrument. The biggest string is called Bajo Urou, which means the mother string. The strings are traditionally attached to rings made of goatskin, tight around the neck. Today, the key timber (type violin) or mechanical (type guitar) can equip Koras to facilitate tuning. The strings (in Hoses made in ancient times) are often the fishing line of different diameters (0.6mm to 2mm), and often the lowest strings are braided son of smaller diameter. "
